You can have anything you want…at a price.
In an ideal world, to have a dispatch system that does exactly what you want is the ultimate solution. No unnecessary key strokes, no having to ‘work around’ problems or use other software to complete the task. There is a price to pay though, as several of the larger taxi companies have found, (between £1.5M and £5M according to the press) and it doesn’t stop there – implementation of bespoke software can go on for a long time and is very labour-intensive – but, it may all be worthwhile in the end.
Or….you can buy an off-the-shelf product at a fraction of the price, live with, and adapt to its structure and way of doing things and accept that you may have to use external software packages to get the whole job done.
